Dear Madam President and Board Members,
I have some good news that I meant to share before Thanksgiving. I was waiting on more details, but no reason to hold off on the big picture. After my discussions with staff, the City is going to move forward in 2022 with installing pedestrian-activated crosswalks along A1A. I believe that all but two the locations that were requested to be studied will find crosswalks. That would be either 4 of 6, or 5 of 7. I don't yet have the specific locations or details on the two that will not be included. This, and the safety reasons for not including the two, was the information on which I was waiting. When I have the details, I'll be happy to share them. I thought better to end the week with some good news, even if all details are not yet known.
Emily, I also received your latest inquiry about water safety and our ability to set lower speeds in the Intracoastal. It is something I am discussing with staff and I will share more details as I get them.
